"Real" Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Júnior has been named the best footballer of 2024 at FIFA's The Best ceremony.
According to the results of the voting, the Brazilian footballer was ahead of the following competitors: Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Daniel Carvajal, Federico Valverde (all -" Real Madrid"), Lionel Messi ("Inter Miami"), Lamine Yamal ("Barcelona"), Erling Holand, Rodri (both - "Manchester City"), Florian Wirz ("Bayer") and career-ending Toni Kroos.
The award took into account the players' performances between August 21, 2023 and August 10, 2024. The winner was determined by a vote of national team captains and coaches, fans and media representatives.
