According to ESPN, the league is looking at the 27/28 season as the target date for the new clubs to begin playing in the league. 

The NBA is in no rush to increase the number of participants so far. Because of this, the 26/27 season is considered an increasingly unrealistic scenario in the situation of new teams debuting.

The league at this stage wants to wait for the sale of Boston to understand the real value of the clubs and calculate the amount it should earn through expansion.

Seattle, Las Vegas and Mexico City are believed to be the contenders for the emergence of new NBA clubs.
