The Canadian forward moved into fifth place in NHL history in overtime goals, surpassing Russian forward Ilya Kovalchuk (17). Tavares has 18 game-winning goals in overtime in NHL games.

Legendary Czech forward Jaromir Jagr is fourth in overtime goals with 19. Brad Marchand is third (21), and Sidney Crosby is second (22).

The NHL's all-time leader in overtime goals is "Washington's" Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin, who has 26 game-winning goals in overtime.
