Russian forward Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins scored an assisted double in a meeting with the Detroit Red Wings.
These assists were Malkin's 799th and 800th in the NHL regular season, respectively.
According to the press service of the National Hockey League, Malkin is the third current NHL player who has given 800 or more assists in his career. Evgeny's Pittsburgh teammate Sidney Crosby has 1,006 assists, while Detroit forward Patrick Kane has 813 assists.
