The star forward returned to the team for the game against "Memphis" on Sunday.
The 39-year-old James, who was bothered by a foot issue, missed two games in a stretch of 10 days.
The "Lakers" used a revamped starting lineup for the first time this season. Max Christie joined James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reeves and Rui Hatimura in the core five.
