Tampa Bay forward Nikita Kucherov stood up for his teammate, dropped his gloves and jumped on his opponent in a preseason game against Florida (1-2 OТ). Kucherov also scored late in the third period.
At the start of the second period, Florida forward Josh Davies made a roughing call on Tampa Bay captain Victor Hedman. Kucherov immediately stood up for his partner and dropped the gloves. The Russian put his opponent on the ice and received a two-minute penalty, which Florida successfully realized.
