De'Aaron Fox will delay signing an extension with the Kings until next summer.

The point guard plans to continue with Sacramento. Fox could sign a 3-year, $165 million extension before the regular season, but prefers to delay negotiations until the summer.

Next year, the point guard could sign a 4-year, $229 million deal or compete for a super max contract of 5 years and $345 million. For this he will need to be in the symbolic five at the end of the season.

The defenseman's current contract will expire in the summer of 2026.

Last regular season, Fox averaged 26.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2 steals while making 46.5% of his shots from the field, 36.9 three-pointers and 73.8% of his free throws.

Sacramento failed to make the playoffs, losing to Golden State and New Orleans in play-in games.
