Darius Garland spoke about the difficulties of last year's championships.
The guard suffered a fractured jaw in December and missed a month and a half. The basketball player lost his playing form as he was forced to be on a liquid diet.
‘That moment sticks in my memory. I was trying to make progress, move in the right direction, and then this happens. I get punched in the face and roll back to the starting line to start from scratch. That's why last year was so hard. Just getting momentum, starting to work as a team, I learnt a lot. And hit that hurdle. Another problematic year.
I lost all the joy of basketball.
But now there's a new season ahead. It's approaching that time of year and I'm happy. The joy is back,’ Garland concluded.
